The workshop aims at offering a brief but intense introduction to Shakespeare and Intertextuality with an emphasis on tragic forms. Subjects covered (not exhausted) include Shakespeare’s dialogues with different tragic traditions and his own contemporaries; Early Modern, Restoration and other adaptations of Shakespearean tragedy; as well as more recent intersemiotic translations of Shakespeare into painting, opera, ballet, and the cinema.

ANDREA FERRÁS WOLWACZ, autora do texto History as Fiction: Reading in the Dark, by Seamus Deane. O trabalho, que trata das intersecções entre Literatura e História, será arguido pelas competentíssimas Professoras Dra. Mara Jardim (FAPA), Dra. Márcia Ivana de Lima e Silva (UFRGS) e Dra. Simone Silva Pires de Assumpção (UNIPAMPA).

Literature Café em novo endereço

Oi pessoal! Ana Iris de volta ao comando do site!

Por questões técnicas, não estou conseguindo atualizar o site regularmente, mas espero resolver isso ainda essa semana.

Enquanto isso, para que vocês já possam iniciar as discussões, o Literature Café mudou de endereço!

Agora ele pode ser encontrado aqui.

O NING é uma plataforma para redes sociais, tipo Orkut e Facebook. A estrutura é bem semelhante, então fica fácil de se achar. Coloquei a estrutura dele em português para facilitar mas, se quiserem, mudo pra inglês.

A outra vantagem é que ele é bastante customizável, então se alguém tiver sugestões, elas são bem vindas!

Para acessar, basta criar um usuário. Os tópicos ainda não estão criados, e serão moderados assim que começar o movimento. Pretendo transferir os tópicos do antigo fórum para esse novo, caso alguém queira ressuscitá-los.

Lembro que todos os alunos da Sandra Maggio, independente da cadeira, estão convidados a participar. O pessoal do GEL e demais estudantes de Letras também são bem vindos.

Dúvidas, sugestões, problemas de acesso, erros nos arquivos, falar comigo.

Who: Prof. Dr. José Carlos Marques Volcato*

*Professor Volcato has conducted his master and doctor degree on Shakesperian Studies. He has lived 4 years in Stratford-upon-Avon. He was also a student at the Shakespeare Institute and performed for many seasons with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Enrollments can be made on the day of the event, in the auditorium itself.

Certificate awarded to those with presence in 75% of the activities.

Hommage to Ana Rocha

We’d like to pay a humble hommage to this professor of our Letras Institute, that for many years inspired students and helped them learn a bit more about English Literature and about life itself. Her premature death will certainly leave a vacant space in our body of professors, but a very vivid image on our memories. To her, our eternal thanks and regards.

Having been created and managed by Ana Iris from 2006 to 2007, it was under the maintenance of Celso Lazaretti in the first semester of 2008. Even though the webmasters change, the politics is still the same: a place for all of us to share information and opinions on Literature. We have an internet forum, Literature Café.

The forum was created to allow students to further the discussions started in class.

To access the forum, you have to sign up first. Once a member, you will find that the forum is divided in:

Categories > that have different Forums > that allow for several Topics to be created.

Chose the adequate Categorie>Forum to create your Topic. But first make sure there isn’t a similar Topic in the same forum.

Other members can comment on any Topic.
